Do my emotions exclude me is an exciting collaborative project between school in Finland, Lithuania and Norway funded by Erasmus+. During the project students learned about their emotions. How to understand the ways that these influence interactions with others and affect their feelings and well-being. The project was focused on inclusion and diversity and aimed to explore if better well-being and happiness in schools could help address high absence. Students helped to spread this understanding in their respective schools and build a sense of community within and across schools.
The project also involved three mobilities of students and staff. The first one took place in Lohja, Finland in from 8th – 13th December 2024.

Day One – We spent some time getting to know each other through fun activities before starting the first workshop. At the end of the day students had identified a variety of emotions and where on their bodies they could experience these.
Day Two - Included visiting lessons, and the second workshop developing creative writing work done in the schools into a painting. In the afternoon there were student led activities. The evening ended with a sauna and a dip in the frozen lake for those brave enough.
Day Three - Started with an observational activity, and role play. In the afternoon we had a cultural excursion and a task on finding physical representations of concepts in an around the capital. Ending with a visit to the exhibition from Darkness to light, which explored aspects of humanity through Art.
Day Four – Continuation of workshops for students this time on Emotions and songs. Workshops on the method “Nepsy” for teachers. Farewell party in the evening for all participants.
Day Five – finalizing work to be displayed, and organizing exhibition. Presentation of work and reflections on what has been learned. The final activity was reflecting on how we could use what we have learned to help others.

Between the 3 and 7th March it was our turn to welcome students and teachers from Kaunas Varpas Gymnasium in Lithuania and Lohjan Yhteislyseon lukio in Finland.
On Monday, the students began with activities designed to get to know one another, explored the school facilities, and in the afternoon visited the most important sights of Bergen, completing a group task along the way.
On Tuesday, activities started early in the morning with an open-air swim. Some students, also took the opportunity to jump in sea. Afterwards students reflected on how starting the day with an outdoor activity affected their well-being. The rest of the day was spent taking part in Mindfulness activities and workshops aimed at helping students better understand their emotions.
On Wednesday, the students participated in a drama workshop at another school in town with students from four schools taking part. In the afternoon there was a music-related activity focused on song lyrics and expressing emotions.
On Thursday, the students spent the day exploring the works of the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch at the KODE. After returning to school, they watched videos, drew, coloured, and created art projects, ending the day with games and a farewell party.
On Friday, the students hiked up Mount Fløyen, which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the city, and the opportunity to experience the importance of nature for well being and managing Emotions.



Our final student and teacher mobility took place In Kaunas, Lithuania between the 29th September and the 3rd October 2025. Our topic focus for this final week was “How to overcome difficulties while interacting and managing one`s emotions”
Day One – In addition to greeting old friends and getting to know new ones, students had the opportunity to have a tour of the school when they arrived, and the town of Kaunas at the end of the day. The rest of the day was spent on a workshop on dealing with emotional challenges and a two part music workshop.
Day Two – this day started by students presenting and reflecting on the result of the previous day`s activities. They then had several Art based session to explore Art as therapy, and a cultural visit to Vilnius.
Day three – the focus of this day was physical well being with managing of emotions through sport in the morning and a session in the afternoon at the Lithuanian zoo learning how animals and nature can affect our emotions.
Day Four – We met in the morning at the Department of Psychology at Vytautas Magnus University for an informative workshop. In the afternoon we visited the M. K.Čiurlionis Art Museum for more exploration of Art and Emotions.
Day Five – Our final day. The students finished and presented their collages, followed by reflections on their emotions using the digital tool padlet. We ended with a session on feedback and reflections on the week.
